La Isleta del Moro is located in the Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar, Province of Almería (Spain), in the municipality of Níjar.
The village has approximately 200 inhabitants, is 40 km from Almeria by the Al-3115.
In the vicinity of the Isleta del Moro are places of great beauty and value as the surrounding beaches, volcanic calderas in the Sierra de Cabo de Gata.
Sandwiched between the stunning playazo of Rodalquilar and Los Escullos, a small town, with few inhabitants, enjoy a gem in the heart of Cabo de Gata - A popular place for divers, photographers, newlyweds, travellers and those just looking to enjoy the beauty and tranquility that La Isleta has to offer.
Easy accessed from the main coast road through Cabo de Gata, you can park on the sea cliff and walk to the soft sandy beach within two minutes and be in the cool, crystal clear, shallow waters. You are well advised to take some swimming goggles and snorkel if you have it, to enjoy the stunning rock shelves which are heavy populated with shoals of hundreds of fish, swimming in constantly evolving formations!

Isleta del Moro, situated on a tiny peninsula next to a small island, is a natural anchorage on `La Ruta de los Pirates´ used for centuries. It´s name is reckoned to have come from a Berber Chief who was in power at the time...

Nearby, under the watchful eye of the Cerro del Fraile is Los Escullos, a small estate that boasts the intact 18th century Bateria de San Felipé, which stands on large fossil platform next to Playa Arco with it's uniquely weird and wonderful rock formations.
